Annual Benefit Auctions

The National Quilt Museum wants you as a donor and a bidder for the Annual Benefit Auctions! Every year during the American Quilter's Society Show and Contest in Paducah, the museum hosts Silent and Live Auctions. The Silent Auctions on the Wednesday and Friday of the show offer opportunities to bid on quilts, quilt-related books and tools, fabric and other artwork. Different items are auctioned each day. Thursday's Live Auction features numerous quilts ranging from antique treasures to contemporary quilts by some of today's most recognized quilters. This year (Spring 2012) the live auction will have 2 Longarm Quilting Machines! More details and the online preview will debut soon.

Interested in donating to the museum's auctions? Here are a few easy ways:
  • Start a round-robin quilt with your quilting friends. Then donate the finished product!
  • Clean your sewing room! Donate the fabric stashes you have been unable to use, books you do not use any more or even a UFO.
  • 2012 Challenge! Guilds are challenged to put together the ultimate quilter's basket! Baskets can include goodies such as fabric, books, quilting tools and batting. The basket size must be at least 24" diameter. The guild who's basket sells for the most money in the Live Auction will win 10 FREE American Quilter's Society books for their library. Second highest will receive seven books, and third will receive five books. Of the baskets sold in the Silent Auction, first highest will win five books, and second highest will receive three books. The museum reserves the right to decide if items go in the Silent or Live Auctions.
When making a donation, please complete and submit the Donation Form 2012. If you prefer to bring the donation to the Quilt Show to submit in person, please mail the form prior to your arrival so the donation can be pre-processed
